Why Hydra?

Hydra is a chic island located in the Saronic Gulf of Greece. It is an one and a half hour high speed dolphin ride from Peiraeus port, making it a popular weekend destination for Athenians. Hydra has kept its traditional cosmopolitan character, featuring Venetian architecture and paved streets. It is pedestrianised (transportation via donkeys and water taxis). It is home to 2,500 - 3,000 inhabitants and pretty crowded during the summer, home to various artists and alley cats. Also, a Leonard Cohen fave!
